from the first idea to the dream resort
Croatia has always been our lifelong love.
However, because we have spent our entire lives in tourism and gastronomy, our demands for a perfect vacation have always been a bit higher than what the Croatian offer could provide.
When we discovered the island of Vir in September 2017, we decided to take fate into our own hands and create a place where we and you, our guests, can finally enjoy #croatiawithoutcompromise.
The road to our dream resort wasn’t easy.
We encountered various pitfalls, but after receiving the first visuals, we knew it would be worth it. After months of hard work, we finally opened the resort in June 2018!
The first year of operation was full of enthusiasm and joy.
We were fine-tuning the last details, running the restaurant, planting new plants around the resort, harvesting the first crop of our own lemons and oranges, and looking forward to the next season.
And then it happened.
Covid entered our enthusiasm, and we, like the rest of the world, had no idea what would happen next. In the spring of 2020, we began the planned construction of houses in the second line from the sea, and throughout all the work, we hoped that the pandemic would end soon and we would be able to welcome our guests again.
During this year, Covid and the hope for its end were still the number one topic.
In the autumn, we successfully completed the construction of the houses that now contain the one-bedroom apartments and studios. In addition, a reception area was created in one of the buildings to make check-in as easy as possible for our guests, and we hoped all along that we would be able to realize our other plans as well.
In 2022, we began revitalizing the rear of the resort and completed the roof terraces on the new buildings.
There, we placed hot tubs, outdoor showers, seating and sun loungers, creating a place where our guests can relax in privacy, exercise, or sunbathe undisturbed.
This year, we continued with the revitalization of the rear part of the resort, with which we had (and still have) big plans from the beginning.
We started the construction of the third house with additional three-bedroom apartments and gradually prepared the space for parking, a multi-purpose playground, as well as for sidewalks and paths that would connect all parts of the resort.
We gradually completed the parking lot and the multi-purpose playground, where our guests have already enjoyed a lot of fun. The gardens in the front of the resort are finally greening up nicely, and we are happy that the palm trees we planted from seeds years ago are also thriving.
In October, we decide that we will not close the resort for the winter season this year, so our guests can enjoy Advent, Christmas, New Year’s Eve and the winter months in peace and comfort for the first time.
We successfully continue with year-round operation, 365 days a year.
In the spring, we acquire completely new modern furniture and equipment and expand our team. Thanks to one of our clients, new photos of our resort are created, in October we launch a completely new website, and we look forward to what the upcoming season will bring.
